If the mice or other animals (like the 1/3rd of the mice generated by Yamanaka's lab) that are generated by injecting iPSCs into developing embryos continue to form cancers or other diseases, will researchers ever be able to make it safe enough for humans? Would the governments and the people let it happen anyways? Is that a price that we would have to pay to live longer? Also do animal activist groups have problems with all this testing and research going on with these animals?
